We have a new sponsor for the hard-copy version of our newsletter: meet COPYMART. They not only do copies, but also rent P.O. Boxes (less expensive than the post office!), handle Western Union, notary services and other things. Quite versatile! Give them a holler if you need copies or another one of their services, they're by Brand and Glenoaks, at 1102 N. Brand Bvd. and their telephone number is 818-241-0809.

I would like to start implementing a few activities as part of our Neighborhood Watch group:
-Pet care / pet walking (NOT pet sitting, as it requires bonding and some other legal stuff most of us wouldn't have the time to get into).
-Senior aid: to offer help to our elderly or disabled neighbors with shopping, occasional transport (IF your vehicle is able and in good condition), and other miscellaneous services.
-Carpool: this could be organized as a separate list for those of you who are parents and have children in school, for either school itself or an after-school activity that's not so close to home. This would make it possible for children/teens to enjoy some extra activity to which their parents would not otherwise be able to drive them to because of work.
-A reading club for children: i'm trying to find out with some bookstores if they could actually provide a space for such activity, but if that doesn't work out, i'll be asking if you'd be interested in scheduling one at the local park and when / how often.
I'd like to hear from those of you who would kindly agree to be on these lists of people i would put together for these activities (you can pick one or more to lend a hand in), which i would then distribute only to those involved in either group. Of course, the help can be for anyone who might run into some tight schedule emergency and needs to get their shopping or something else done. Please email SonoraFlower@myway.com if you would be able to donate your time. And of course, if you have other ideas for any community services, let me know and i'll post it.
